Norwegian Air Covid Test FAQs

Is it safe to travel abroad with Norwegian Air?

Norwegian Air have implemented extra measures that comply with UK Government guidelines ensuring you can travel to and from your destination safely. Further information can be found on the Norwegian Air website.

Do I need to wear a face mask on board a Norwegian Air flight?

From 17 June 2020 Norwegian Air introduced the mandatory use of face masks for their passengers and cabin crew on board all flights. This is in line with recommendations from European authorities (EASA). Passengers are responsible for bringing their own face masks which must be worn during the entire flight, except when eating and drinking. Face masks must cover the nose and mouth and must be made for the purpose - scarves and similar will not be accepted.

Children under the age of 6 do not need to wear a face mask on board. If passengers have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, they must present a medical document to the gate staff confirming this before boarding. Additional information can be found on the Norwegian Air website.

What implementations have Norwegian Air put in place to reduce the risk of infection?

Norwegian Air ensures that each of their aircrafts are professionally cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis which is effective for over 24 hours. Additionally, each aircraft is fitted with state of the art air filtration (HEPA) systems which operate to hospital standards.

What should I do before arriving in the UK?

As of 4am Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England now depend on your vaccination status. Please note, all travellers must complete a passenger locator form prior to boarding regardless of vaccination status.

Fully vaccinated travellers must show proof of vaccination before boarding a Norwegian Air flight.

Partially or unvaccinated travellers must show evidence of a negative Covid-19 test. This can be in the form of a PCR or Antigen test. Further guidance can be found on the government website.

What should I do once I have arrived in the UK?

Once you have disembarked from your Norwegian flight, you’re required to follow the UK arrivals testing rules. These rules will vary according to the country you are arriving from.

What else do I need to know before travelling with Norwegian?

Entry requirements differ from country to country and may be subject to change with very little notice so we advise that you check the Norwegian Air and government website regularly before you travel.

We recommend using our Home Delivery Travel Planner to confirm that the lead times for your chosen test are in line with the country you are travelling to. This will ensure you have allowed enough time to test and receive your results within the required timeframe before your departure.

Each passenger is responsible for checking and conforming with the entry and exit requirements at their arrival and return destinations. Please be aware that if you fail to comply with these requirements you may not be able to travel with Norwegian Air or be allowed to enter your destination.
