As of June 2021, all direct flights from the UK to mainland China remain suspended. This measure will be subject to a future review but no date has been given.
Covid-19 antigen tests are currently not accepted for those travelling to China from the UK. Alternatively, you can test for Covid-19 using one of our nucleic acid PCR test kits which must be taken no more than 48 hours before departing the UK. Failure to provide a negative Covid-19 test may result in travellers being refused entry to China.
From 4am on Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England have changed from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status. Fully vaccinated travellers can book a day 2 test with free delivery. The Chinese government requires travellers to undertake a double-negative Covid test. Travellers from the UK to China will need to take both a PCR test and an IgM antibody test 48 hours before their flight.
