As of October 2021, you are eligible to enter Switzerland for any travel purpose if you are fully vaccinated and can show adequate proof of vaccination status. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated are only eligible to enter Switzerland from the UK if they are: Swiss or Liechtenstein nationals; EU or EFTA nationals; holders of the following documents: a residence permit. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated and do not meet one of the exemptions outlined above are not eligible to enter Switzerland. Further details can be found on the government website.
From 4am on Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England have changed from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status. Fully vaccinated travellers can book a day 2 test with free delivery. Travellers from ‘high-risk countries’ will need to present a negative PCR test result which must be carried out less than 72 hours before arrival. Further information can be found on the Federal Office of Public Health website. Antigen tests and Proof of Recovery documents are now accepted. Upon arrival, passengers entering Switzerland must immediately go to suitable accommodation (e.g. a hotel or holiday apartment) and quarantine for 10 days. Visitors must also report their arrival to the cantonal authority within two days.
