Some countries are now accepting certificates confirming recent recovery from Covid-19 as sufficient to enter the country.
Our GPs can assess and where appropriate issue a certificate of recovery from Covid-19. This can be issued no earlier than 10 days after an initial positive RT-PCR test.
A Covid recovery certificate states that you have had Covid-19, but have since recovered, and are thought to have natural immunity from re-infection.
A Covid Test Certificate is proof that you did or didn’t have Covid-19 on the date of the test.
A Covid Fit to Fly Certificate is to demonstrate that you are unlikely to have covid given your symptoms on that day.
A Proof of Covid Recovery, Covid Recovery Letter, Covid Recovery Certificate and Proof of Natural Immunity are all the same thing, they show that you had covid, but are unlikely to have it currently, and so are likely to be protected from Coronavirus by your own antibodies.
You will need to be able to produce a positive test and demonstrate that you have recovered from Covid-19. You will need to present this for your assessment for your certificate AND when you travel. At your assessment, we will ask you some questions to ensure you have recovered from Covid-19.
The new NHS guidance is largely aimed at ensuring as many people can return to work as possible to keep our economy and infrastructure running. However, the Covid Recovery Certificate considers only public health, so the shorter isolation period does not apply.
In addition, most of our Covid Recovery Certificates are for international travel, to ensure that your Medicspot Covid Recovery Certificate has the flexibility to be accepted in as many locations as possible, we need to adhere to stricter guidance.
This approach can give you, and your destination country, the confidence that our certificates meet the highest standards. We review international regulations regularly, so please watch this space.
It is widely accepted that after 11 days of Covid-19 you are likely to have recovered and no longer be infected. If you are still unwell, then it is likely you have not yet recovered. This assessment is based on the symptoms that you tell us in your assessment.
Each country/destination defines the validity period of acquired immunity following covid recovery. Additionally, these validity periods may change so we recommend that you check this before you travel or complete your assessment.
You can apply after 11 days if you have been free of symptoms for 48 hours.
If you have completed 11 days since your symptoms started, and are otherwise well, it can be normal for you to have some ongoing shortness of breath after Covid-19. As long as this is improving, you are unlikely to be infected or infective, so you may still be able to get a Covid Recovery Letter.
This depends on your destination. Some countries will only accept PCR tests, others will accept any type that hasn’t been taken by the patient themselves.
Covid-recovery certificates are required for certain events, locations, airlines, and countries.
Yes, the Covid-19 recovery certificate is perfect for you! Tests after recovery following infection with Covid-19 can be positive for months. If you have recovered and are still testing positive for Coronavirus but are not showing symptoms, a medical evaluation can assess if you have recovered and are no longer at risk of infecting others.
Anyone (aged 5 years or over, in the UK) who has evidence of a Covid-19 test result between 11 and 180 days, and has recovered, is likely to be eligible. But each case will be assessed by a doctor who will be bound by their professional standards to only produce the letter if they think it is safe and correct to do so. Note that in many countries, the certificate is only valid for 90 days following the positive test, so please check with your destination before you purchase the certificate.
You will not be eligible for a certificate if you do not fit the criteria, or if you have had a positive test in the last 10 days. If you have recovered from Coronavirus you can stop taking tests and can book an evaluation with us 11 days after your last Covid test or since you last experienced symptoms.
You can now do this using our online form in minutes. All you need is your proof of your positive Covid test, dated more than 11 days ago. We will ask you some questions and ask you to upload your certificate. If eligible you will receive your letter in 24 hours.
Alternatively, if you would like to discuss your Covid Recovery with a doctor, simply book an appointment with a Medicspot GP, anywhere in the UK. Our online GP consultations make it easy for you to see a doctor at a time that suits you.
Your certificate will be emailed to you as a PDF within 24 hours of you submitting your details and certificate to us.
Your certificate will cost £99 using our online assessment form.
At Medicspot we can give a Covid-19 Recovery Certificate to anyone aged 5 and over.
You can get a Covid Recovery certificate for up to 180 days after you tested positive, but not in the last 11 days. Remember to check if these timeframes are the same as your chosen destination.
You need to have been symptom-free for more than 11 days (14 days if you were hospitalised).
Yes, this is the most common use of the Covid Recovery certificate. Please ensure you check the requirements of your airline and destination country before booking an appointment with one of our GPs.
Given the fluidity of the rules and regulations involving Recovery Certificates for different countries, we advise that you check the individual rules for your destination country before booking an appointment with us.
Due to the changing nature of both countries and airlines, some airlines may not accept Covid Recovery Certificates for travel. We advise that you check that the airline you are travelling with accepts Covid Recovery Certificates before booking your appointment with us to avoid disappointment.
You can find up-to-date information about entering the UK and Covid Recovery Certificates on the government website. Here is the website for entering England - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-Covid-19.
No, we will need to see evidence of a test result from a laboratory. We cannot accept photos of test kits.
Any test from a laboratory with your name, and the test date is accepted (dated in the last 11-180 days). This can be a PDF from a private laboratory or a screenshot (or photo) of an NHS test result notification (as long as we can see the name and date).
We don't currently add QR codes, as the letter you receive can be uploaded onto most websites for review, and the government issued QR code is produced for you to travel with. We also recommend that you take the PDF of your letter with you when you travel.
We don't normally do this, as it is rare for this to be necessary. Please contact us if you would like this to be done for an extra charge.
If you have any specific requests, please add this to the free text field at the end of the form. If we can make the changes for you, we will.
PDFs can be uploaded at the end of the application form. Images of NHS tests can be uploaded too, but with the following requirements:
For all screenshots and screen captures:
If there is any question regarding the validity of the evidence, we cannot accept it. Where there are signs of tampering of certificates and evidence, customers will be banned from using the service in future and will not receive a refund.
We aim to produce letters that will be accepted so that you can travel to the US with our Covid Recovery Letters. But please check the US Government websites first. On 15 December 2021, proof of immunity (Covid Recovery Certificates) was valid in the US for 90 days. We aim to produce letters that will be accepted so that you can travel to the European Union. But please check the EU websites first. On 15 December 2021, Covid Recovery Certificates were valid (but with some variation in validity of duration, varying between 90 and 180 days) and lateral flow tests were not accepted. You might find this page useful: https://reopen.europa.eu/en/. Not all EU countries will follow the same rules for entry.
The Australian Government and airlines such as Qantas, have their own requirements for the validity of these certificates, so please check these and add any additional information required when you complete the assessment form.
