Medicspot has been shortlisted along with 15 other digital health startups to compete to be named the Rewired Pitchfest winner by a judging panel of investors and digital health entrepreneurs.

Medicspot was selected by the judges from a field of over 90 start-ups to compete in the Rewired Pitchfest final on 4 March at the Olympia National Hall in London.

The winner will be offered the unique opportunity to test and scale their innovation at the world-class Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust through its CW Innovation programme.

Rahul Kapoor, CCO of Medicspot, will deliver a three-minute pitch live on stage and answer questions at the Rewired Pitchfest finals in front of an audience of NHS IT leaders and the Pitchfest judges.

It’s an honour to be selected to compete in the Rewired Pitchfest final alongside other innovative start-ups in space. We’re excited by the opportunity to showcase how Medicspot can improve NHS efficiencies at Chelsea and Westminster hospital

Medicspot is a one-stop-shop for primary healthcare, offering convenient and timely access to examination-enabled remote consultations. Patients book an appointment at a pharmacy, have a GP consultation over video call with connected diagnostics and collect any prescriptions from the same pharmacy.

As many as 60% of consultations require examination and cannot be done online, a key barrier to digital healthcare adoption. Medicspot hopes to overcome this with its connected devices that allow doctors to examine patients remotely.

Chris Chaney, CEO of CW+, the charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and co-lead of CW Innovation, told Digital Health: “With nearly 100 Pitchfest entries, there is clearly no shortage of ideas and passion in creating innovations that can deliver high-impact improvements to patient care. It was genuinely tough to choose sixteen finalists.

“Now the attention turns to the Pitchfest finals on 4 March. With a real-world NHS test bed opportunity available for the Pitchfest winner at our Trust, we are already looking forward to a fantastic contest that will be central to a successful Rewired 2020 event.”
