Your February-Ready Future Self

Many of us start January with a “New Year, New Me” energy: big intentions, fresh plans and high expectations. If by the end of the month some of these haven’t come to fruition it doesn’t mean we’ve failed. It simply means you’re human, and life has been happening alongside your goals. Instead of starting over, the end of January is a good moment to reflect on what’s been working for you and to adjust what hasn’t.

3 points to reflect on

One helpful way to do this is to reflect on three things:

1️⃣ One habit to carry forward

A habit or routine that has genuinely helped you feel better this month — something you can keep doing without it feeling like hard work.

2️⃣ One thing to stop doing

Noticing a habit or pattern that’s been making things harder than they need to be, for example:
• Skipping meals earlier in the day and then feeling out of control later
• Letting one off-plan meal turn into “the day’s ruined anyway”
• Trying to change everything at once instead of sticking to one or two basics

3️⃣ One SMART action for February

Choosing one clear, specific action helps turn good intentions into something practical and doable. Pick one that supports your health and fits real life, such as:
• Eating a balanced lunch at least 3 days a week
• Using Rate My Plate once a week for extra support
• Sitting down to eat one meal a day without distractions

Keep it small, realistic and time-bound, something you can still do even on busy weeks.

tip

🌿 Progress doesn’t come from doing everything at once. It comes from building on what works for you, letting go of what adds unnecessary pressure, and taking small, consistent steps in the right direction.
